chopping board

What’s in and what’s out? Colour trends in interior design are always chopping and changing, especially as a new season begins! We have trailed through all the potential trending hues of this year, so you don’t have to!

Here are some of the most promising colour trends of Spring and Summer 2024. What do you think of these shades?

Pink

Pink is IN again…finally. Pink walls, pink accents, pink cupboards, pink is back with a *cute* vengeance. The trends do state that it’s more of a dusky pink though, so put down that 80s pink number. We’re talking light pinks to complement the lighter tones in your home.

Try our Oil Plus 2C in Winter Blush to get that pale pink look for your interior wood.

Coastal Blues

Being by the sea is good for your soul, and what better way to bring the seaside to your home, than with coastal blue shades? Blue is a calming colour, and when matched with the essence of the ocean, it really does bring tranquility to your interior.

For soothing and serene blues, we’d recommend our Oil Plus 2C in Nordic Blue and Teal Blue.

Earthy Green/Tones

We’re talking terracotta, caramel and warm tones. Exposed brick work is in, so to match this earthy embrace, the colours around it have to be soft.

This summer, homes are embracing nature and the great outdoors. That’s why Earthy green, a symbol of trees, is becoming popular for interiors. The dark green hue is meant to be calming and therapeutic, but it’s up to you whether that means you paint the whole room green, or opt for just a centrepiece.

We’re loving the idea of having your wardrobes and media units a dark green. For this look, you could mix Oil Plus 2C in Emerald with our Charcoal to deepen that shade!

Moody Black

It’s not time to say goodbye to the mardy hues yet. We love dark interiors that contrast with the lighter elements in the home. We’re talking deep purples, warm reds and dark blues.

However, if you’re after that true matte moody black for your interior wood, we’d suggest our Pre Colour Easy in Intense Black, with our Oil Plus 2C in Black over the top.

Orange

You’ll have to mix our Oil Plus 2C in Ruby with our Emerald to achieve an orange look.

Orange is a brave choice and we love it to accentuate parts of the room. Perhaps it would look good on an upcycled chair or on a bookcase.

Colour drenching makes a revival every year, and 2024 is no different. We love the idea of matching your wood to other textures and hues in your home, and you can do that with Oil Plus 2C!

As well as the colours mentioned above, peach and pastels are also in! No matter what the trend is, the most important factor in designing your home is to make it exactly how YOU like it. Whether that’s peach walls and green wooden floors, or moody black beams with orange ceilings.
