1. Preparation: Clean the Surface
Start with a clean slate! Use Exterior Wood Cleaner to remove green deposits, moss, and dirt. This prepares the wood for optimal absorption of the protective layer and enhances end results.
Pro tip: Let the wood dry completely after cleaning.
2. Application: Choose the Right Product & Tools
Using DuroGrit
Apply 1 layer of DuroGrit on dry, bare wood using a Staalmeester brush. The patented FibreGrit® technology ensures long-lasting UV protection without masking the natural beauty of the wood.
- Best for: decks, garden furniture, stairs, sheds, …
- Can be used on vertical and horizontal surfaces
Using WoodCream
Apply one generous layer with the specially designed WoodCream Brush. Its creamy texture ensures drip-free vertical application and creates a breathable, water-repellent shield.
- Best for: cladding, fences, garden houses, sheds
- Do not use on horizontal surfaces
3. Maintenance: Keep It Looking Fresh
Use our Exterior Soap or Ecospray version for regular maintenance. These eco-friendly soaps remove dirt and preserve the protective layer without harming the finish.
Clean once or twice a year depending on weather and exposure.
DuroGrit
- 10-year warranty for vertical surfaces*
- Reapply every 2 years on horizontal surfaces (e.g., decking, garden tables)
WoodCream
- 10-year guarantee on non-flaking, colour retention and water resistance*

*Disclaimer: durability depends on the orientation of the wooden surface, the amount of sun exposure and environmental circumstances. Optimal durability can only be obtained by following the maintenance instructions provided in our warranty document.
