Is it really the best? Putting DuroGrit to the test

Our new product, DuroGrit, is an outdoor wood oil for both vertical and horizontal surfaces. This product protects your outdoor wood against UV damage and all other weather conditions with just one single layer! Thanks to our revolutionary, patented formula, you only need one layer and you're all set for 2-10 years! 

• For horizontal surfaces, like terraces and furniture, we have a 2-year guarantee: as you walk on your terrace, sit on your chairs and eat and drink at your tables, these surfaces tend to have more wear to them than cladding for example. Still, compared to our competitors, DuroGrit needs very little maintenance, and this without sanding! 
• For vertical surfaces, like cladding and sheds, we have a guarantee of up to 10 years! This means that you only have to treat your vertical surfaces once every 10 years, and once again, no sanding necessary! 

We know that this almost sounds too good to be true. This is why we have put our product to the test so we could show you the real value of DuroGrit below.

We don’t just say our UV resistance is superior to other products on the market, we also prove it. The wood samples below are results of extensive QUV tests in our laboratory according to the norm EN 927-6.

A QUV test is an accelerated weathering tester that rapidly simulates the damage caused by sunlight, rain and dew. This way, in just a matter of weeks, we can reproduce what the damage would be in several years of outdoor exposure.

One week in the QUV machine equals 7 and a half months in a European climate, exposed to the elements. 

We treated the left half of the wooden board with a DuroGrit colour in one layer and the right half with an alternative product using a two-layer system. As you can see, we selected similar colours to our own to show the result as faithfully as possible. We then put the boards into the QUV machine, simulating the results after 5 years of exterior exposure.

The two squares in the middle show where the QUV machine was active. On the left and right sides of the squares, you can still see the original colour of the wood protection. The results clearly show that the DuroGrit colours are better preserved than those of the alternative product.

To make sure our products are wear resistant, we test them in our laboratory. We did some scrub tests for DuroGrit and compared the results with alternative products. The left half of the wooden boards were treated with DuroGrit, the right half with an alternative product. Part of the board was placed under a small brush which moved back and forth 600 times.

This wears off the protection and shows how mechanically resistant DuroGrit is against alternative products on the market. As you can see, DuroGrit offers excellent mechanical resistance.
